Future managers for a dynamic business

Graduates (Rachel Carter, Conor Ryan, Rachel Armstrong)Fresh is what Coldwater is aiming for and the same applies when we’re looking for future Managers within our dynamic business. The freshest talent bringing fresh ideas to the business. People with different views, ideas, experiences, and backgrounds to bring dynamism to the business and, most importantly, an empathy with customers. Those individuals working together will make Coldwater the most successful seafood businesses in the Country. Individuals with the courage to be heard, seize opportunities and take risks. We looked for graduates that had a competitive streak, winning mentality, positive attitude, a passionate desire to achieve with determination and resilience to succeed in an extremely challenging, fast moving, and results-based environment and who wanted to build their career within Coldwater Seafood. A bit of a tall order? No, not with the talent we have within our Graduate programme.

Rachel Carter – (Food Technologist)

“I am on a two year graduate programme after studying at Bath Spa University in Food Nutrition and Consumer Protection. I have had short placements at other large companies like Yeo Valley, but here at Coldwater the 2 year programme really is helping me to get a firm knowledge of how large companies operate and the ongoing challenges that they face getting products to market. It was a big step to move away from home but an opportunity which is really paying off. I work with a range of people in the business who are very supportive and am really enjoying being in a professional working environment”

Conor Ryan (Engineer)

“After 4 years studying Chemical Engineering at University, I am really excited about my graduate placement at Coldwater. I love the opportunities open to me for both project work and maintenance solutions, chances I would probably not get in smaller businesses where it would all about maintenance. Ongoing project work is really helping me get great industry experience and a chance to solve problems that large businesses face. The diversity of work means that I have to communicate with all sections of the business and has helped me establish a range of professional skills which I can build on. Also the pressure of deadlines helps to keep me focused on the solutions to problems…”

Rachel Armstrong (Food Technologist)

“I am on a two year graduate programme with Coldwater Seafood following a degree in Food Quality, Safety & Nutrition from Queens University, Belfast. I am really benefiting from being in a large organisation and the chance it gives me to experience the bigger challenges that business corporations face. The experience is helping me grow in both my professional and personal life and the real life experience I am getting from real life work situations in New Product Development and the Technical requirements of the industry…”
